Key Features of Our Concrete Fence Posts
- Unrivalled Durability: Our concrete fence posts are known for their extraordinary endurance, which makes them an affordable option over the long term. They resist rot, weathering, and other environmental factors that can compromise the integrity of traditional wooden posts.
- Stability that Matters: Achieve peace of mind knowing that your fence is built on a solid base. Concrete posts provide unmatched stability, preventing leaning or warping, even in challenging soil conditions. This is especially true for steel-reinforced concrete fence posts, which are practically invincible to all changes in weather and soil conditions.
- Versatility in Design: Our range includes different types of concrete posts, such as morticed and slotted posts, intermediate, corner, and end posts are available at both branches. With us, you’ll find the right style of concrete posts for your fencing project, whether you need concrete garden posts or steel-reinforced privacy posts for the ground level.
- Flexibility in use: Our concrete posts are highly flexible and can be used for virtually any project. They create durable and welcoming garden fences when used alongside garden fence panels, and they make for excellent gate posts alongside gravel boards, providing the security your property needs.
- Low Maintenance: Compared to wood posts, concrete fence posts require minimal maintenance. Say goodbye to frequent painting or staining – enjoy an immaculate garden and amazing curb appeal with concrete posts.
Landscaping and Installation Tips for Fence Posts and Fence Panels
Proper installation is key to a fence that is long-lasting and stands strong for years to come. The fence posts and fence panels are the building blocks, and it is crucial that installation is done correctly. The depth at which you should dig your posts into the ground can make a significant difference in stability and longevity. As a general guideline, most of our customers fix posts in the ground to a depth starting from 60cm and up to 1/3rd of the height, depending on the project. This provides a solid foundation that helps prevent leaning and shifting, even in varying soil conditions. Once the fence posts have been properly fixed, slotting in the fencing panels or fixing them is relatively trivial.

Concrete Posts FAQ
How Do Concrete Posts Compare with Wooden Fence Posts?
Concrete posts offer several distinct advantages over timber posts:
- They are not susceptible to rot.
- They require minimal maintenance.
- They are more affordable.
Timber posts, however, aren’t without their upsides:
- They are easier to install.
- They are less susceptible to cracking.
- They deal with extreme weather better.
At Timberstore, we offer both concrete and timber posts that are excellent whether used in gates or with garden fence panels.
How Deep Should a Concrete Fence Post Be in the Ground?
Installing posts at the right depth is important as it ensures the posts are properly secured to the ground, prevents water erosion, and prevents uplift.
The proper depth largely depends on the length of the posts. The basic rule is that 1/3 of the posts’ total length should be buried in the ground. Fences shorter than 4ft usually have 18-24” of the post in the ground. For fences which are up to 6ft high above the ground, we recommend 2ft of the post in the ground, and anything higher or in high wind zones, from 2.5ft up to 3ft in the ground.
